1. Who We Are

Wandr ("we", "us", "our") is a travel social application operated by Wandr Travel Pty Ltd. Our app is available on iOS via the App Store. You can contact us at bens@wandrtravel.app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use Wandr:

• Account information — name, email address, username, and password when you register
• Profile information — bio, profile photo, countries visited, and travel preferences you choose to share
• Content you create — posts, photos, videos, journal entries, and trip itineraries
• Location data — with your permission, approximate location for features like What's On and post tagging
• Device information — device type, operating system, and push notification tokens for app functionality
• Usage data — how you interact with the app to improve features and performance
• Communications — messages sent through the in-app messaging system

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the Wandr app and its features
• Generate personalised AI travel itineraries using your stated preferences
• Display your posts and profile to other users on the platform
• Send push notifications about activity on your posts and messages
• Improve app features and fix bugs using aggregated usage data
• Send transactional emails such as email verification and password resets
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising purposes and we do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Wandr uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — powers the AI trip planner and travel assistant. Your trip preferences are sent to Anthropic to generate itineraries. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Google Maps & Places — used for location search, maps, and place information. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Ticketmaster — used to show events near your travel destinations. See Ticketmaster's Privacy Policy.
• AWS S3 — used to securely store photos and videos you upload
• Resend — used to send transactional emails such as verification codes
• Apple Sign In / Google Sign In — optional sign-in methods. We only receive your name and email address.
• Expo / EAS — used to deliver app updates and push notifications

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Railway (PostgreSQL database) and Amazon Web Services (media files). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.

Access tokens expire after 90 days. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.

6. Your Content & Privacy

Content you post publicly (posts, profile information) is visible to other Wandr users. Journal entries are private by default and only visible to you unless you choose to share them to the feed. You can delete your posts and journal entries at any time within the app.

Direct messages are only visible to the sender and recipient.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability — request your data in a portable format
• Objection — object to certain uses of your data

8. Children's Privacy

Wandr is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons.

Posts and content you have shared publicly may remain visible for a short period during the deletion process.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Wandr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
